Good shots. Which one is young Incogneto?
Is that upstairs glass area a living room or a balcony? Neato.

By the way......NO glass. None whatsoever on the exterior of the porch. It's just screened in. Last time I was there before my Grandfather passed we were talking about ways he could better close off those double doors to the main house as it was a fairly significant heat loss.

Wow, the first cardboard box full of plastic boxes of slides had the moon landing photo that I remembered Grandpa taking. Not a showstopper, but a good memory for me.
I present to you ladies and gentlemen, July 20, 1969. Thanks Gramps wherever you are.
Not Armstrongs first foot step, but looks like the moon is about to be claimed by our flag.

Here's a photo of my Grandfather and Grandmother that I found in my large box of slides. They are on the right. Grandpa is the one that taught me the flooring trade, starting quite gradually beginning around age 13 or 14.
No dates were stamped on the edges of the photos.
I am passing these on to a relative to find out who the 'older' folks are. I'm guessing Grandpa's parents? ...I never met them.
Here's the original scan of this aged slide and my "after" image after I got it all cleaned up and color corrected. Takes a couple hours or more messing with a single photo to bring it back to life. The time spent tho, is worth it. Hope a few relatives can fill in the blanks when I pass this image on to them.

Ya know what is scarey about this image? ....................old as it is, and I am guessing the mid 50's it looks to me as if it is a local, coastal viewpoint. If it is, it has changed a lot.
I'm putting a coastal drive on my "to do" list to discover if this image was taken from where I think it was.

I would say the 50's also by the hat the gentlemen is wearing. Remember my grandfather with a hat like that.
That is the shame of a lot of old pictures I have also that there is no writing on the back as to who they are and the date. Now they are just pictures of people.

I sent the photo to my aunt and she told me the older guy in the photo was uncle Merle, Grandpa's............. brother?
He was 20 years older than Grandpa.

There you go now the face has a name and who he is in the family tree.

Lots of Grandpa's side lived a long ways away, so we never met. I never got the bug to do much tree climbing. Looking through the old photos will be an education................. if nothing else, they are sure fun to look through.

Maybe you ought to do some tree climbing. You may be amazed what you find out. Had a 2nd cousin do a family tree. Found out I had 5 half brothers and sisters whom I have now met and was also related to John D. Rockerfeller, not that it would do me any good. Also had some relatives on both sides in the Civil War.

I have an aunt that has been doing my dad's side of the family since she was 18 years old. She's about 70 now. She can tell what cave we all emerged from on the continent of Pangea. :D
Here's me before I needed to wear glasses................. or anything else.

Oh, and the first day of school in '63. 1st grade. I had Mrs. Rudin for a teacher. Later in life, I worked for her and her husband a few times installing carpet. They went to the same church as Grandpa and Grandma did.
I think that's a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea lunch pail. Just saw a scratched and rusty one on E-bay asking $225

Here I am with my brother.......... same scenario, the first day of school a year later, in 1964. Ron is a year and a half older, but as you can see, I'm taller :D
...and my ears were getting more and more like Dumbo's ears. :( On the bright side, later in life, my ears flattened out and my hair grew over them because it was the 70's. :D
His looks to be a Roy Rodgers lunchbox, but even after zooming in close, I'm not quite sure what mine was......... Lone Ranger possibly.
