How many people celebrate Mothers Day for women that aren’t mothers? Isn’t that the same as giving a ‘participation’ trophy to someone who hasn’t earned the trophy.

Thoughts?
Alright let’s have some philosophical fun 🤩 with that question/ thought …. They say woman who work or live together sink up menstrual cycles, SO ! Is it reasonable to say that none mothers may have played a part in the conception of a baby ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

There can be no winners of championship trophy’s 🏆 if we don’t have teams or players who sacrifice time participating
( the tiny trophies 🏆 are there for a reason, lets not overthink it, with too much thought 😜 but I understand, I’m an over thinker 🤔 too. ✌️

I’m still thinking 😜 : and let’s not forget about the figurative meaning of Mothering too. It takes a village to raise a child.

Do gay mothers celebrate Father's Day?

Don’t know but that’s a different question all together. In that case you’re still a parental unit that is simply choosing to celebrate on the alternative day that society has set up for recognizing parental units. I got bigger fish to fry than getting into it with a mother father over whether they’re a mother or a father.

I’m talkin about people that have never had kids, adopted kids, fostered kids or done anything else that would earn you admission to that club. By recognizing anybody does that not cheapen the holiday for those that have earned their membership?

The simple answer is YES ! Get your own darn day dammit !

Then again, when we look more into the internally meaning and how it relates to us personally, we tend to have less external Agita on what’s going on around us, and that could lighten the burden somewhat to be understanding 🤷🏽

Oh hail the great Wallenda!!!

So I was talking to ‘a friend’, who doesn’t have any kids, and I told her she doesn’t qualify for Mothers Day flowers because… she doesn’t have any kids. You kinda have to be a mother to get into that club. She asked So when is my day? I told her since you don’t have any kids, every day is your day!

Yeah, I know, I still got this ‘friend’ some flowers but they’re not Mother’s Day flowers, damnit!

The old man spotted a dime on the floor today. The waitress picked it up and said it reminded her of her mother because she was always dropping dimes. I asked her if her mom was a welder. She looked at me funny.

Great knowledge!!
On Jeopardy the other night, the final question was, How many steps does the guard take during their walk across the Tomb of the Unknowns? ------ All three missed it ---
This is really an awesome sight to watch if you've never had the chance Very fascinating.
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
1. How many steps does the guard take during their walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why?
21 steps. It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute, which is the highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.
2. How long do they hesitate after their about face to begin their return walk and why?
21 seconds for the same reason as answer number 1
3. Why are their gloves wet?
Their gloves are moistened to prevent losing their grip on the rifle.
4. Do they carry their rifle on the same shoulder all the time and if not, why not?
They carry the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb.
After their march across the path, they execute an about face and move the rifle to the outside shoulder.
5. How often are the guards changed?
Guards are changed every thirty minutes, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.
6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?
For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, they must be between 5' 10' and 6' 2' tall and their waist size cannot exceed 30.' Other requirements of the Guard:
They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot drink any alcohol on or off duty.
They cannot swear in public and cannot disgrace the uniform or the tomb in any way. After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only a little over 600 presently worn.
The guard must obey these rules while serving as guards or for the rest of their lives if they choose.
The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to the top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt.
There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform.
Guards dress for duty in front of a full-length mirror.
The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone, nor watch TV.
All off-duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred.
Among the notables are: President Taft, Joe E. Lewis (the boxer) and Medal of Honor winner Audie Murphy, (the most decorated soldier of WWII) of Hollywood fame.
Every guard spends five hours a day getting their uniforms ready for guard duty.
ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.
In 2003 as Hurricane Isabelle was approaching Washington , DC , our US Senate/House took 2 days off with anticipation of the storm. On the ABC evening news, it was reported that because of the dangers from the hurricane, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment.
They respectfully declined the offer, 'No way, Sir!' Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a serviceperson.
The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.
God Bless and Keep Them
I don't usually suggest that many posts be reshared, but I'd be very proud if this one reached as many people as possible.
We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.
Duty - Honor - Country
IN GOD WE TRUST

After I posted that, I went over to the Vietnam wall website and looked up an old buddy. We drank a lot of beer between basic and shipping out. He died 2 weeks after getting there. WE had no business being there. Nixon was awful, but at least he got us out of there. Young poor men die for old rich men. Ike, JFK and LBJ should have all been arrested for treason.

That's just being inclusive....... Now don't you go treadin' on me. I've been called a mother, so now I identify as one.
