I believe you can plug your phones up via USB to a computer and transfer data to the computer and then to the other phone. I linked your post to my friend who is pretty much a cellphone expert to see if he can tell me how you can accomplish the data transfer. With newer phones some can do NFC (Near Field Communication) to transfer data but it takes a long time and not all have it. I believe at the AT&T store they used a cable to connect the phones but I think it's a specialized cable. I'm not sure. I wish I could have seen what they were doing better. Also, the older phones have different types of ports and some require kies software to be able to transfer data. As it is, I can't get my phone to transfer data to my computer anymore after I uninstalled AT&T Mobile transfer-- it kept popping up and interrupting every damn thing I did. I'd be trying to take a picture and the app would pop up and stop me from being able to take a pic. Really aggravated me.
Hopefully my friend can answer.
Took him to U-Pullit to get a part for his truck-- needed the motor and stuff to roll up his driver side window. He's got some kind of GMC truck but he was able to pull the part out of a Cadilac Escalade. We looked over the lot and admired a vehicle that we don't know why it got dumped. No exterior damage... Custom paint, alligator leather interior, all sorts of neat stuff. I forgot to take pics. But I did take pics of the derelict plumbing van. I found a little spring in it that I wanted to use for a project but I accidentally dropped it while helping my friend carry something. I wouldn't let him do any heavy lifting.
Went to Samsclub after and got water, cat litter, etc. Saw a thing with 2 pairs of leather work gloves. Got them and gave a pair to my friend. He wore them while installing the part on his truck. Too bad we didn't have them when he was removing the part.
Hung out at his place to warm up after I helped him (I had to hold the window up so it wouldn't drop when he was first putting the part in).
His baby was not in the best of moods. He had a fever after his 4 vaccinations the other day and was a bit crabby. The baby was fascinated with some cartoons on TV. I'm sure he can't tell WTF is going on but he was kicking his legs and moving his arms when characters on screen were running.
Now that my friend's fiance got her phone back from the police, she's decided to sell it to see if she can get enough to pay her fine and court fees so she can get a job.
I got home and had a back ache so I rested for a bit before heating up some 4 cheese tortollini and making a beschemel sauce. I think I used too much corn starch (we don't have flour) and not enough salt.
I also finally passed a kidney stone that had been aggravating me for a few days.

Thanks zan. The phone came with a diagram that shows linking both phones together with a charging cable. They include an adapter in case both phones don't have the same type of plug-in.
They give you the diagram but they don't tell you what to do.
I've seen two different videos and instructions one says to keep the SIM card in the original phone while doing this and the other one says to put the SIM card in the new phone. That would be why I am a little bit confused ......well, one reason, ...I have more. 😁

I asked my friend and he said something about using a mobile transfer app. If you have a Best Buy near you perhaps you can ask an employee in the phone department how it's done. They are usually pretty helpful even if it's not something you are purchasing from them. If you're not asking them to transfer the data for you, they might explain to you what you need to do. Pretty sure older phones need some sort if KIES or something, but they may have changed that.

When they transferred data from my brother's old phone to new phone, they initially kept the sim card in his old phone I think. I will ask my friend.

That link I showed is google and looks like it can be done by connections the phones together when at a WiFi location. I think I'm going to try that. Not having done that before, I worry when going through the process, it's going to ask me questions....... and I won't know what to do.
I connected the phone to my pc and downloaded all ofy photos and 'downloads' onto a flash drive.
I just need my laptop running while I do it so I don't have to write down the procedure from Google's site.

Anyone gaining/losing weight? I have actually lost 14 lbs. since March. No fast food and no breakfast out. I sure miss breakfast out, but my wife won't go.
I haven't checked. I skip lunch most of the time. I make up for it by buying cookies when I stop to buy something for dinner. 😁

I'm pretty sure I've gained weight. My brother has really gained weight back. I think he's back up to 300lbs again.

Highup, I hope you can get everything transferred.

I'm still trying to figure out what my friend can do about these false accusations from the casino. I got called as a potential juror before over cases involving theft from the casino so I know that the tribal police work with local law enforcement. I really don't know how they could charge him with something when they have zero evidence of any wrongdoing, but I've learned that it doesn't matter here. There is no "justice" in the justice system here. Guilty until proven innocent. My friend can't afford an attorney & we've already seen that the public defenders are useless. My friend thinks if he avoids the casino he's safe-- but the problem is, they will alert state and parish cops to arrest people. The fact that he identified the culprit as looking like the son of a local cop won't help him. There may be retaliation for that.

My lungs hate me for being out in the cold wet air for so long yesterday. So I spent the day playing with Pinterest and Houzz.

Tomorrow I have to go to the store to get prescriptions. Not looking forward to it. Too many people tend to be at the store.

For now I'm huddled up with my kitties.

Well I had to check I'm just over 212 and a half. So I'm guessing I'm pretty much the same . I'll stick with my Marie callender's, cookies, and chocolate milk. 😁

My weight is probably going up. Problem when I go to doctor is that the scale reads metric and that's like a foreign language when I want to know my weight. My sugar numbers are up but it's the holidays. A bit more insulin takes care of that.

Snow is cleared from driveway and walkway. Heavy and wet. It's fun for 15 minutes. Then after the wind starts blowing the snow back in your face, it's not fun anymore.

Got 8 inches because the freeze line went north of us. Otherwise we would easily had over a foot.

Last work day of 2020! Woo Hoo!

All restaurants are closed till 1/6. But I have a restaurant that set up a plastic tent with bunches of propane high hat heaters inside. My biggest complaint is there are no eat in breakfast places. I miss my Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream!

Don't cut yourself short on Public Defenders. They are usually golf buddies with the judges, and provide more leniency to defendants than a highly paid attorney.

How much snow do you get Tom? We're lucky to see 2 inches every other year...... That's total snow. I don't own a shovel that small so I take the day off. 😁

To clarify, I don't mean all public defenders, I mean the ones in this area. I've only seen/heard of 3 and they all suck. There's the one that wouldn't communicate with my friend's fiance at all and then dropped her case so it got passed to another one who refused to even attempt to defend her (even though she had a good case for dismissal) and then there's the 3rd guy who was running for judge, called my house and defamed his opponent (who won) and then didn't bother to show up for court on his client's trial date.

Friend continues to have problems. His truck stopped running. All of the spark plugs in the motor burnt out. There was brake fluid on top of the motor and a damaged cover-- it was some round thing sort of in the center over the motor. So it doesn't seal properly. Spark plugs had oil on them when pulled out but only from the inside. Motor only has 17k miles on it. I did my best to help him change the spark plugs (bought the new ones) but I could really only reach one. My arms are too short. I'm about 220lbs so I'm definitely overweight. My gut got in the way a little bit, but I couldn't even come close to reaching stuff with my short arms. I have long legs but a short torso and arms. If my torso was proportionate to my legs I'd be taller than my friend.

Sadly, while we were working on stuff, a neighbor's dog came over and scared one of the kittens into the road. Someone in a red SUV was speeding down the road on the wrong side of the road and ran the kitten over. My friend retrieved the body and the mother cat and siblings came over to sniff the body and the mother sat near him waiting for him to wake up.

At the auto parts store my friend talked to his uncle and cousin (who both work there) and they were telling him how all of his sisters have Covid. The family hasn't been communicating with him much. His mom stopped by once and when she found out he couldn't give her $ or drive her anywhere she stopped talking to him. She only comes over or messages him when she wants something.

I went to the grocery store and picked up my RX and then got back home to feed Mom. Currently under a pile of cats because it's already getting cold.

Almost forgot, I put a new latch (old one broke) on the doors to the front room so if we need to lock it we can.

Something is terribly wrong with oil on the plugs at 17,000 miles. Was the engine rebuilt?
On older Chevy's, there's a shift solenoid on the side of the tranny. It's vacuum operated and controls shifts. If the diaphram ruptures or gets a pinhole in it, transmission fluid can get sucked up the hose and into the engine.
I suppose newer cars are all electronic now.
Too bad about the kitty. Cats aren't usually very smart around cars.

Well the Google pixel 4a is alive. Photo quality seems a lot better. I don't recall the differences, moto might have been 12mb and this one 16?
I'm attempting a repair in a vinyl floor and I took pictures of what I'm doing. The house was built in 1906 and has a stripped wood for a floor that was covered with linoleum. A second layer of vinyl was put on top of that one probably in the early seventies. The one you see in these photos I'm going to guess is a mid-80s or late 80s? Somehow the floor got a really deep gouge that went through all layers almost into the wood floor and tore things up pretty good.
So I trimmed up the edges of the tear in the linoleum and straightened up the edges a little bit scraped off the old glue and epoxied in a piece of old paper backed Designer Solarian.
Next I trimmed the second layer of vinyl further away from that patch squared it up and did a second patch. I sanded the surface of the Solarian vinyl to match the thickness of the second layer of vinyl on the floor. The epoxy I use was JB weld made for plastics. This seems to harden less brittle. I think with the second patch in place I'm ready to do the actual replacement that I'm going to scavenge from underneath the stove. Once I trim a patch to fit, I'm going to scuff up the second layer of vinyl and glue it in with the same epoxy. Tan color this time instead of black. With the epoxy, I won't need to worry about the edges curling up and I won't need to do any filling where my patches are because the epoxy will act as a filler and adhesive in one step.
I'm going to try and get the brick repair part done tomorrow. No matter what happens it will look better than a nasty gouge.
