I used contact on a glue down job last week for seam sealing.

Never tried that on a conventional (strip and pad) install.

Just slather some rubber cement on the edges and make sure you get them fibers good too!

Yes , you have to let it dry before making the seam .

We used to have a guy here that would use seam sealer as he made his hot melt seam. His iron looked like hell but the seams were definitely sealed.

When i use the latex sealer i put a bead behind the iron as i go along . Takes to long for that crap to dry .

About 8 years ago I was made a forum mod for the first time. The forum was DIY HQ. Got an e mail from the forum owner this morning thanking me for my help, but they had decided to shut it down. Hate to see it go but it was based on an old platform and we could not keep spam cleaned out.

Could have been a good forum without the Canadian admin and a few of the jerk members. By the time you and I took over, it was too late. I have my admin password written down for over there but can't read my handwriting.

When Keith and Austin built that forum, we would have 8-10 pages of new posts every day. We also had 10 mods and 2 admins. Within a year, it became barren land, which I squarely blame on that one liberal mod, who hated whites, hated working, and loved government handouts.
