The bump stock worked pretty good to mow down the victims in Las Vegas though.

The next sicko will use something else.
True on both accounts.................. Still, no real reason to have a loophole around obtaining a real one.
Sicko's will always come up with other methods.............. might as well eliminate this one tho.

Hi, you are correct. There are already lots of videos how to make a DIY bump stock by just using your belt and shoelaces. Will they attempt to ban shoelaces and belts next?

Actually, with the way the kids wear their pants hanging down off their butts, I believe they have already banned them belts!?

Watch the youtube video of a rubber band being used.

Festival type music concert security is pretty slack considering. I have not seen a metal detector at one yet. Someone could easily sneak in a body bomb. that would be way worse.

This raises questions about LV security letting people take in large amounts of guns and ammo. I expect any terrorist is thinking casinos are an easy target. Ya'll can just walk on in.

Personally, it's just frustrating when in reality, there isn't really a lot that can be done to stop people bent on mayhem. That Vegas killer didn't show any signs of being so deranged......... so what laws would have stopped him? If there was an outright ban on assault looking guns........... and owners were required to turn in their weapons..... How many law abiding citizens would do it? How many law enforcement people would it take to go door to door to search homes for the illegal weapons? How many in law enforcement would refuse to do home searches? How about the lawsuits in federal court that would filed and how many years would the court battle take?
The only bright side is that every politician that voted for the ban would lose his or her next election. We need some housecleaning to get rid of the old dusty ones ;)
It's one of those "ya can't get there from here" situation. It'll never happen.
OK, were back to square one......... Sadly, ya just can't stop crazy people. They may be crazy, but they are also smart enough to plan their attacks undetected.
It's frustrating when there's a limited amount that can be done to stop something when you don't know it's going to happen:eek:.

Ya'll don't even need a rubber band or a bump stock really.

I tend to stay away from large crowds outdoors these days unless I'm armed. :)
I stay away from large crowds too......... there's always lots of people there. :D When I went on my photo excursions, it was neat. I could drive around in the hills for the entire weekend and see maybe one or two cars. Millions of trees, but I don't mind large crowds of trees around me. ...they're so quiet and nice to hang out with.

Here's a reason gun laws and gun bans don't work. We have a problem with system failures and the criminal mindset.
OK...........you committed a crime and were told to surrender your weapons. All of them?
How about you do as directed, then borrow or steal another weapon later?
How many times do cops need to be called before a person is designated as dangerous?

21calls? ...5? ...2?
A judge ordered Neal to stay away from the women and to surrender all of his firearms. But months after Neal's arrest, the women called the Tehama County Sheriff's Department several times to report Neal had been firing a gun.

In one week in August, the two women called sheriff's deputies for help three times. In one of the instances, Poland told the dispatcher that she had a restraining order against Neal and that he was outside her house with a flashlight, firing at her house and car, according to an incident report.

At some point, why can't the police be allowed to do something? I'm guessing the first time he murders someone, only then it's OK for the police to get serious.
............this where laws need to be changed.
Does the info in this story just seem nuts? I see red flags leading up to this guy's carnage.
